I’m still sitting outside the closed door meeting of Navajo Nation elected officials and Navajo Transitional Energy Company Board members.
When Speaker Johnny Naize’s Chief of Staff Jarvis Williams briefly came out of the closed door meeting, I asked about the BHP Billiton officials and he said that there no BHP officials. He confirmed that NTEC Board members were in attendance.
Williams is back out of the meeting. He asked a hotel worker for more coffee.
I’ve been at conferences hosted and attended by Navajo administrators and people where the hotel actually cuts off the coffee. LOL!
It’s now 4:04 p.m. Navajo Division of Natural Resources Director Fred White is sitting with me. He claims that the meeting is boring but I think that he’s sitting by me to keep tabs on me and get me talking.
The doors opened and people have come streaming out. Sitting at a table next to me is Navajo Nation Attorney General Harrison Tsosie, Environmental Protection Director Stephen Etcitty, Executive Office attorney Heather Claw, Division of Natural Resources Director Fred White, and Navajo Tax Office Director Marty Ashley.
The only ones in the closed door meeting are President Shelly, Speaker Naize and Council Delegates, who include Delegate LoRenzo Bates.
Navajo Department of Justice attorney Marcellino Gomez is sitting at a separate table where he is working on his lap top.
Shelly’s senior chief of staff Deswood Tom is siting on a couch with First Lady Martha Shelly.
Speaker Naize’s Chief of Staff Jarvis and NTEC Board members are standing in front of the conference room door talking and laughing.
