Dine’ Uranium Commission appointment & Field hearings on fracking before Navajo Council committee

The proposed agenda for the Navajo Nation Council Resources & Development Committee’s Feb. 7, 2017, Tuesday meeting has two bills addressing field hearings about fracking on the Navajo Nation and the first appointment to the Dine’ Uranium Remediation Advisory Commission.

The bills are

LEGISLATION 0025-17 : An Action Relating to Resources and Development Committee and Naabi’Iyati Committee, Respectfully Requesting the United Nations to Conduct a Field Hearing Regarding the Impacts of Hydraulic Fracturing. Sponsor: Health & Services Committee Chairperson and Council Delegate Jonathan Hale and Council Delegate Norman Begay, and

LEGISLATION 0016-17: An Action Relating to Resources and Development Committee and Naabi’Iyati Committee; Confirming the Appointment of Seraphina A. Nez to the Dine Uranium Remediation Advisory Commission Sponsor: Council Delegate  Kee Allen Begay.

The Resources & Development Committee is meeting at the Navajo Housing Authority buidling in Tohajiile, N.M., starting at 10 a.m.
