NAVAJO COUNCIL CONTINUES DEBATING LEGISLATION 0131-14, SETTLEMENT OF FEDERAL TRUST MISMANAGEMENT LAWSUIT BROUGHT BY NAVAJO NATION AGAINST U.S. FOR $554 MILLION AND OTHER BENEFITS AND CONCESSIONS.

I’m concerned about settlement settling all mismanagement of our monies. But this does not apply to Water Rights or anything in future, uranium. it also provides certainly the natin with ability to put these monies to use and to generate more funds. but i struggle with what lies before cuz i certainly support agreement, especially being task force member and appreciate attorneys, all that contributed, especially Navajo Department of Justice.

but my concern is providing people opportunity to learn about. do you agree at what amount to not afford people their input. that is struggle i have and why asked not to have Legislation 0131-14 on agenda.

but settlement is a good one and we all shud be estatic.

we disagreed but we’d come back together. and i want to emphasize that this settlement is our settlement, not the attorneys.

we had lawsuit that alleged that fedreal government cheated us out of money and that was breach of trust lawsuit so i feel that we did well with this settlement.
