Congressman Don Young introduced Native American Energy Act, which was not acted on by Congress. Nov. 12, 2013, placed on Congressional calendar and no action so still pending before committee so interest here was to support H.R. 1548. I tried contacting Sponosr Delegate Naize. I don’t have much information now. I need to digest more. I signed off to help Naize cuz he was going to be absent at one of the council committee meeting.

Insert into H.R. 1548 that Navajo Nation has authority over natural resources. And also not allowing Secretary of Interior authority over Alaskan Claims Settlement Act. Way happened on eastern side is that not all being reviewed. people have applied for permits for land to be drilled. so this may get BIA and other to expediously process oil and gas permitting. but oversight is under three and now adding six or seven more. i think this is about extraction of oil and gas and how handled on Indian lands. but i need to read through rest of
