Legislation to Reopen Navajo govt Casinos Removed off Naabi agenda, 7.8.21

Greetings Relatives/Frens/Humans, Legislation to Reopen Navajo Govt Casinos was Removed from Naabik’iyati agenda at the request of its sponsor, Resources & Development Committee Chairman Richie Nez, who is horseback riding to the Council. Nez did not give a reason for Removing his legislation to Reopen Navajo Govt Casinos.

And so now, there are only TWO bills on Naabi agenda: LEGISLATION 0101-21: An Action Relating to Naabik’íyáti’ Committee; Confirming the Appointment of Mr. Stanford Lake to Serve on the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners to Fill the 6 N.N.C. § 606(B) Position of the “Construction Management or Engineering or Business Management or Equivalent Field Experience with Background in Indian Housing or Federal Housing” SPONSOR: Honorable Rickie Nez, CO-SPONSOR: Honorable Seth Damon.
LEGISLATION 0091-21: An Action Relating to Resources and Development, Budget and Finance, Naabik’íyáti Committees, and Navajo Nation Council; Allocating $2,000,000 in Síhasin Funds to the Can͂oncito Band of Navajos Health Center, Inc. for the Can͂oncito Clinic Expansion Project; Approving and Adopting the Can͂oncito Clinic Expansion Project Expenditure Plan Pursuant to 12 N.N.C. §§ 2501-2508

Speaker Seth Damon DIDN’T ACCEPT Navajo Council Delegate Nathaniel Brown’s request to hear Reports from ACTING CONTROLLER Elizabeth Begay on using AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT fund for EMERGENCY DROUGHT ASSISTANCE for DINE’ & LIVESTOCK and NAVAJO TRIBAL UTILITY AUTHORITY on why their policy LIMITING DINE’ WATER to DINE’ & DINE’ LIVESTOCK. And this WATER LIMIT is ONLY for DINE’ HAULING WATER!!

The following happened about 11 am, and I posted this on my FB page:

WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Navajo Council Delegate Nathaniel Brown, during Recognition of Guests & Visiting Officials, calls for EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE for the Dne’ & asks for Report from Controller on Tapping into American Rescue Plan Act/ARPA funds for EMERGENCY DRUOGHT ASSISTANCE to get EMERGENCY WATER TRUCKS out to communities for Dine’ & LIVESTOCK. Brown also asked for Report from NTUA/Navajo Tribal Utility Authority regarding their policy to LIMIT WATER FOR DINE’ HAULING WATER.
Speaker Seth Damon basically tells Brown that this is the time to Recognize Guests & Visiting Officials & the Budget & Finance Committee will be the ones to ADDRESS EMERGENCY DROUGHT ASSISTANCE which means coming up with a PLAN.
And then BUDGET & FINANCE COMMITTEE member Jimmy Yellowhair says EMERGENCY DROUGHT/WATER ASSISTANCE IS NOT FOR LIVESTOCK. And remember Dine’, the BFC & Resources Development Committee traveled to southern Colorado for a meeting at the Navajo Government’s Wolf Creek & Boyers RANCHES for two days, which was during the Nation’s HEAT WAVE. After their two day all expense paid trip to Colorado, the BFC & RDC issued a press release for the Council to FUND TWO TRIBAL RANCHES in Colorado, where there are bisons & other LIVESTOCK with $1.7 MILLION from ARPA for DROUGHT ASSISTANCE.
And BFC member JIMMY YELLOWHAIR is quoted in the BFC & RDC press release as TOTALLY SUPPORTING the $1.7 MILLION FOR TWO RANCHES in COLORDO. BUT NOW, YELOWHAIR SAYS NO to EMERGENCY DROUGHT ASSISTANCE for DINE’ LIVESTOCK.
I REALLY, REALLY DOUBT that we, The Dine’, & our livestock, which is Dine’ livelihood/farms and that also part of OUR DINE’ WAY OF LIFE. Why, oh why, can’t the Council/BFC/RDC, nez, lizer, damon SEE that, FEEL that, UNDERSTAND that, SUPPORT THAT
I have been posting about each Dine’, no AGE DISCRIMINATION, GETTING a FAIR SHARE of ARPA money. I called for $4,000 for each Dine’. But at this point in time, with years of DROUGHT & DROUGHT NOW WITH HEAT WAVE, I SAY THAT EACH DINE’ NEEDS, and NOT WANTS, WHAT OUR DELEGATES ARE PAID ANNUALLY TO MAKE DECISIONS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF WE, THE DINE’. Each of the Council Delegates are paid, with our Dine’ money, $25,0000 a year and so EACH DINE’, NO AGE DISCRMINATION, DESERVES TO BE ALLOCATED $25,000 IN ARPA EMERGENCY DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!
May Peace Prevail on Mother Earth☮🌻
