Naabik’iyati Committee approves its agenda

The Navajo Council’s Naabik’iyati Committee has cnvened. The following Delegates are present: Speaker Naize, LoRenzo Bates, Nelson BeGaye, Katherine Benally, George Apachito, Leonard Pete, Alton Shepherd, Duane Tsinigine, Charles Damon, Josh Butler, Walter Phelps. There are 2 members from each committee. Committee has convened at 12:05 pm. As Committee is doing Announcements, Delegate Leonard Tsosie arrives.

DELEGATE LORENZO BATES
Opposing tribes showed up when Navajo Nation – New Mexico Gaming Compact presented to New Mexico Legislature Compact Committee and NM House and Senate want NN-NM Gaming Compact before them next week.

I’d like Delegate Bates to provide a work session on NN-NM Gaming Compact.

DELEGATE LEONARD TSOSIE
i was at meeting with BIA regarding annual federal budget and more Delegates needed to be there so there is full funding for Navajo Nation.

Please add legislation that the Health, Education & Human Services just approved. The Naabi Committee approves Simpson’s request.

Seen memo to Resources & Development Committee Chairperson Katherine Benally for Navajo Oil & Gas’s charter. RDC. Add legislation 0352-13.

DELEGATE LEONARD TSOSIE
This legislation needs to remain at RDC until RDC takes action. And Navajo Oil & Gas has been lobbying Delegates and Navajo Oil & Gas is falling apart. Navajo Attorney General also has issued opinion regarding lawsuits against Navajo Oil & Gas that could hurt shareholders.
