I think that 0075-14 might collide with Title of tribal law.

this is interesting cuz have oversight committee that can block proposed legislation dealing with Navajo Housing Authority but here we have legislation dealing with NHA. that is what happened with my legislation at Resources and Development Committee on Tuesday. NHA receives $80 million to $90 million annually and so every delegate shud have say in NHA. my point is why for RDC when have legislation and it’s discussed and motion withdrawn that that legislation shud go forward. and yes, Title 2 needs to be amendmed and legislative attorney shud have caught before 0075-14 came to Naabi.

Resources and Development Committee has been robbed of a lot of our authorities, such as Water Task Force, Energy Task Force. But Health, Education and Human Services Committee approves all certification of schools on reservation. And Budget and Finance Committee approves all investments. I think topics of significant impacts shud be brought to Naabi and let’s include federal housing plan rather than picking on one committee and becomes policy of Navajo Nation.

The certification of all schools was given to Navajo Nation Board of Education.

LEGISLATIVE ATTORNEY MARIANA KAHN
This resolution was for final appointment authority for NHA Board. Title 2 has two places for Naabi to carryout this authority.
