Navajo Budget Committee: CARES Deadline looming, Per Capita?

Really quick Update of this morning’s two hour Budget & Finance Committee meeting: BFC members are very concerned that the Navajo Nation will not meet the CARES deadline for spending all the more than $663M.

And so BFC members started talking about the possibility of using the more than $66M for per capita payments if Navajo Nation elected officials know that the $663m cannot be spent by the December 31 deadline or that December 31 deadline is not extended.

This BFC meeting is recorded so if you missed it, it would be to your benefit as a Navajo Nation member to listen to it.

The BFC adjourned to attend a special Navajo Council Naabik’iyati Committee meeting. I tried to listen to Naabi yesterday but my wifi signal was not catching meeting. But that was ok because the lack of wifi signal was because it was thundering and lightening. I thanked the Holy Sacred Begins for the Blessing of Rain/Moisture for all of Life on Mother Earth!

And for some unexplained reason, the Navajo Council decided not to provide Call In information for the Naabik’iyati Committee. I guess they still think that everyone across the Navajo Nation has access to RELIABLE wifi. SMH!!!!!
