The Navajo Council’s Health, Education and Human Services Committee is scheduled to meet today, April 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Navajo Council chambers north conference room in Window Rock, Ariz.
The Council’s top committee, the Naabik’iyati Committee, is scheduled to meet on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Council chambers.
The Law and Order Committee is scheduled to meet before the Naabik’iyati Committee at 8 a.m. at the Quality Inn conference room in Window Rock.
And on Friday, April 18, 2014, the Budget and Finance Committee is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. in the committee’s conference room in Window Rock.
According to the HEHS Committee AGENDA, the committee is expected to hear four separate reports from the Navajo Epideminology Center, Navajo Risk Management, the Navajo Area Agency on Aging and Navajo Head Start.
The HEHSC has two pieces of legislation on their proposed agenda, and during the committee meeting, additional legislation and reports could be added by committee action. The bills both concern amendments to the Navajo Veterans Trust Act and to the Navajo Nation Guardianship Act.
The Nabik’iyati Committee’s proposed AGENDA includes two reports. Speaker Pro Temp LoRenzo Bates, who serves as the Council’s Gaming Task Force chairperson, will give an “update.” the other report is also an update on the Council’s Government Reform Task Force by its chairperson, Delegate Leonard Tsosie.
There are 8 pieces of legislation on the Naabi proposed agenda, including Legislation 0118-13: recommending and approving the Navajo Nation Chapters’ Infrastructure Improvement Priority Projects for years 2013 to 2018.
The Law and Order Committee’s proposed AGENDA has one item: a report from the Navajo Nation Office of the Defender.
The Budget and Finance Committee’s proposed AGENDA for its special meetings shows four reports and one piece of legislation.
