Navajo Election Board advised to put next highest prez candidate on election ballot

The Navajo Board of Election Supervisors was scheduled to meet in the Navajo Division of Dine’ Education building but it was relocated to the Quality Inn Business Building conference room in Window Rock, Ariz. The NBOES are here and so is a crowd of people.
The meeting was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. but board election president Wallace Charley announced that the board is waiting for tribal attorneys. It is now 9:21 a.m.

OHA ruled that Deschene disqualified and that OHA
Default judgement cuz Deschene wouldn’t answer questions and so Hearing Officer Nez stated he had no choice but to issue default judgement.

NAVAJO JUSTICE DEPARTMENT ATTORNEY PAUL SPRUHAN
possible motion for reconsideration to OHA. also appeal time. how those two intersect is up to Deschene’s group to do both. whatever they decide, there is ten day period. don’t know if go to Navajo Supreme Court where OHA decision could be reversed so really up to Deschene and his attorney if pursue to Supreme Court. That is my general view. There is sentence section 44 of law, expects Election Board to place next highest candidate on ballot.
