The Navajo Board of Election Supervisors was scheduled to meet in the Navajo Division of Dine’ Education building but it was relocated to the Quality Inn Business Building conference room in Window Rock, Ariz. The NBOES are here and so is a crowd of people.
The meeting was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. but board president Wallace Charley announced that the board is waiting for tribal attorneys.
The agenda for the election board meeting is Report on 2014 General Election by Navajo Nation Council Chief Legislative Counsel Levon Henry. The second item on the agenda is Resolution – Postponing the General Election for Navajo Nation Office of the President and Vice President pending the resolution of challenges to the qualifications of candidate Christopher Deschene; the election for all other positions shall proceed as schedueld.
