Here at Navajo Nation Inauguration Ceremony for Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye and Vice President Jonathan Nez at the Fighting Scouts Events Center at Fort Defiance, Ariz.

The Master of Ceremonies is Pax Harvey and he has started introductions in Navajo and English. He noted that the theme of the inauguration is “Awakening of a New Dawn.”

Harvey introduced outgoing President Ben Shelly and his wife, Martha, and Vice President Rex Lee Jim and his mother.

He also introduced the Navajo Board of Election Supervisors who are being sworn in. They are Dennis Dedman, Rodger Martinez, Dawn A Yazzie, Sam Ahkeah, Shirlee A. Bedonie, Ray Gilmore.

The posting of the colors is underway. And Martin Sisters performed the National Anthem.
