Representing NOGC was NOGC Board President Leonard Eltsosie and interim NOGC Chief Executive Officer Louis Denetsosie.
According to NOGC’s report, it generated about $150 million in revenue and about $41 million in net profits for 2014. It’s “capital expenditures” graph, shows estimated expenditures of about $188 million in 2013, compared to about $37 million in 2013 and $40 million in 2014.
A very interesting portion of the NOGC report was a question from L&O Committee member Delegate Russell Begaye about whether NOGC was using fracking in its oil and gas activities.
Interim CEO Denetsosie said yes.
DELEGATE LEONARD PETE
had meeting at Twin Arrows Casino & Resort and I asked Navajo Oil and Gas how much oil is in the ground because i was concerned about how long would oil be depleted. What will be left for our children?
And regarding qualifications of NOGC Board members, CEO, staff. You cud have all kinds of educational degrees but without experience and common sense, then degrees don’t really matter.
L&0 COMMITTEE MEMBER DELEGATE RUSSELL BEGAYE
I’m looking at NOGC’s report and their financial figures appear to allow to use its own funds instead of getting loans.
NOGC BOARD CHAIRPERSON LEONARD ELTSOSIE
I’m not talking against educated Navajo. I’m working towards my doctorate.
