Hearing has re-convened on Navajo police officers versus Navajo Division of Public Safety Director John Billison.

We did come to agreement in principle but as told clients, the devil is in the detials and that’s in the written agreement. I drafted agreement this morning. I shared with Jordan and he hasn’t had chance to share with his clients and probably chances but forms foundation of agreement for settlement of this complaint and other complaints.
We ask for rest of day to finalize and re-set hearing at Labor Commission’s convience later this week.

We definitely have agreement in principle and agree that we need agreement in writing. It’s a complicated deal. If we follow HOwe’s suggestion, it would be stipulated order from Commission then Commission receives written document and Commission can talk to each individual.

Thank you TOO. wE LOOK FORWARD TO your agreement. the idea behind this matter is that, we encourage everyone to work togehter in the spsirt of friendshp. DPS consists of many individuals, different ranks.
Where do these complaints belong? If you can’t come to agreement over working conditions, who would take care of? YOu would think that Division Director wud listen. There is also Law & Order Committee but officers alleged that they were useless. And now President Shelly also named in complaint.
Suggested Peacmaking and Mediation. But we would like agreement where everyone agrees and there is compliance with the settlement. When signature on document, we expect parties to comply. If it doesn’t happen, we will spin wheels. Counsel has said that these complaints cover a couple of administration. So please pay attention to what you are signing. Have attorneys thoroughly explain. By being here, you are absent from duties.
So cousel, give us update about 4:30 pm. If document finished, then be back tomorrow morning, Wednesday, or Thursday morning.
