Still here at Navajo Council’s Naabik’iyati Committee but planning to attend Navajo Government Development Commission & Office Listening Session on Navajo Government Reform at the Fort Defiance Chapter, Fort Defiance, Ariz., which begins at 1 p.m. It is now 11:40 p.m. and for some reason, Naabi is stuck on an amendment to Legislation 0067-15: An Action relating to Naabik’íyáti’ Committee and the Navajo Nation Council, Confirming the Nominations of the Speaker of the Navajo Nation Council to the Eastern Navajo Land Commission, which is sponsored by Speaker LoRenzo Bates. The amendment is to add President Shelly’s nomination to the Eastern Navajo Commission. Shelly’s appointment is former Council Delegate Danny Simpson.
Bates’ appointments to the Eastern Navajo Land Commission are Delegates Jonathan Perry, who represents Becenti, Lake Valley, Nahodishgish, Standing Rock, Whiterock, Huerfano, Nageezi, Crownpoint; Leonard Tsosie, who represents Littlewater, Pueblo Pintado, Torreon, Whitehorse Lake, Baca/Brewitt, Casamero Lake, Ojo Encino, Counselor; Edmund Yazzie, who represents Churchrock, Iyanbito, Mariano Lake, Pinedale, Smith Lake, Thoreau. and Norman M. Begay, who represents Alamo, Ramah, Tohajiilee.
