The Navajo Nation Office of Hearings and Appeals just ruled against presidential candidate Chris Deschene by issuing a default judgement, which means that presidential candidates Dale Tsosie and Hank Whitethorne won their case against Deschene, which was that Deschene lied on his candidacy affidavit by saying that he spoke the Navajo language fluently, which is a legal requirement of all presidential candidates.
Hearing Officer Richie Nez said that Deschene has the right to appeal his decision to the Navajo Supreme Court.
Attorneys for Tsosie and Whitethorne said they expect Deschene appeal.
