HERE AT NAVAJO COUNCIL, WHERE DEBATING LEGISLATION 0367-13, WHICH IS REALTED TO BHP COAL MINE.
DELEGATE ALTON SHEPHERD
HOW will performance bond be paid?
DELEGATE BATES
based on the schedule provided to us, I got controller involved so what getting is revenue projections in event legislation fails and to right is needed money/revenue.
can see from schedule, it impacts all funds, setaside, etc. I’m handing out to show reality of it. Second is if this legislation fails that u explain to constituents that this is wat will happen unless something out there.
NTEC GUNDERSON
how performance bond paid for? from revenues of mine, not Navajo. We will return, when going thru appropriations in October, reported that funds carry for year so provided showing progress on acquisition of mine and working with mine to take over operation, we will need additional operational funds.
DELEGATE JONATHAN HALE
I kow in talking with chapter yesterday over revenues for chapters, veterans, etc. They were pretty interested but they wanted to know more, figure and how to work. All I cud say was no material, all verbal and cudn’t share cuz of confidentiality. With that, constituents against. But in seeing direct services and regional efforts, it wud be considerable impact. At that meeting, I was reminded of who I represent. My question is who is going to pay for bonds? And what Shepherd mentioned. He asked what else will NTEC ask for. And what is total for two bonds. We are only talking one bond.
They asked why they weren’t informed, why it wasn’t in media if so important. They said we’re not saying no but want information to provide better direction.
Why I opposed in Naabi? maybe more transparency but maybe already too late.
