Acknowledge frustration but no comment since
US Dept of Labor, US Dept of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Indian Health Services Health & Human Resources cuz 90 percent of land is in trust so share that frustration.
NDOJ DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL DANA BOBROOF
nothing has changed from last report. not much to report.
RDC CHAIRPERSON KATHERINE BENALLY
The Navajo Nation Council is not being responsible for these federal housing dollars is what we are told and it’s because of what is happening at Navajo Housing Authority. It’s written in there, in the letter of warning, that we must address these expired terms of NHA Board members. RDC is the key. We want to help, collaborate. We hold the key.
RDC DELEGATE PETE
What happened between RDC and NHA? Wen RDC Delegate Leonard Tsosie batting for his agency, not his chapters. And RDC chairperson had proposal. And you took it and you hung us with it. What was so ridiculous is that none of Board members there so I don’t know what was reported to them. But they came at RDC with hatchets.
And I’d be fool is stayed on a Board when my term has expired. And that is what NHA Board doing. So when do we get this resolved? Mr. Ed T. Begay ought to know better. May he leader. I had respect for him but no more. And why we are here and why we are at impasse. We just need to sit down and agree and go on. We need to move forward. They say if you want to make progress you don’t reach back, eyes on the past.
DELEGATE DWIGHT WITHERSPOON
My communities got all excited when heard housing funds available but then those funds weren’t spent. We need funds for housing studies and data so when local leaders receive data on how funds will provide local housing then they’ll work on getting land withdrawn since NHA CEO Aneva Yazzie reported lack of land for housing.
