The Navajo Nation Council Budget & Finance Committee started their public hearings on Aug. 12, 2024, at the Crownpoint, N.M., Chapter. The next public hearing is today, 8.13.24, at the Ganado, Ariz., Chapter. According to the first hearing, which I listened to on the Navajo Nation Council YouTube Channel. I say listen because Speaker Crystalyne Curley failed again to have Navajo Nation Legislative Branch staff provide a view of the public hearing, which included a power point presentation by the Navajo Nation’s financial office.

Budget and Finance Committee to host public hearings on the Fiscal Year 2025 Comprehensive Budget
WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. – The 25th Navajo Nation Council’s Budget and Finance Committee will host public hearings in the five Navajo agencies to engage the Navajo public, regarding the Navajo Nation’s upcoming Fiscal Year 2025 Comprehensive Budget.
The meeting dates and locations are as follows:

The 25th Navajo Nation Council invites all community members to attend the public hearings to receive information and to provide input on the needs of communities in relation to the FY2025 Comprehensive Budget.
Standing Committees are currently reviewing program budgets and unmet needs requests. The Navajo Nation Council will consider legislation for the Comprehensive Budget in early September.
Each of the hearings will be broadcast virtually on the Council’s YouTube channel. Zoom information is listed on the flyer.
